Hello wonderful world of Tumblr! I randomly decided to create a tumblr because my friend told me to. Uh. Not sure what I’m supposed to say. I know no one would be interested in reading about my daily life or my inner struggles as a teenager so…yeah. Awkward. Or can someone be awkward on the internet? Who knows.

can someone be awkward on the internet

can someone be awkward on the internet

CAN SOMEONE BE AWKWARD ON THE INTERNET

OH past me! You’re so cute.

  9. After Birth Abortion

    This makes me sick.

    I hate abortion.

Abortion is murder, plain and simple.

But this? Anyone who has held a newborn, or seen the glow on a new mother’s face knows that this is absolutely ridiculous. It’s not any more or less murder than pre birth abortion is.. But people can get away with the “typical” abortion. If people are allowed to get away with this..

”..should be allowable up to the point that the child develops some ability to communicate and to anticipate the future”

What about people with special needs? What if there’s a 15 year old who can’t communicate? Is killing them considered a form of abortion?

Here’s an article written by Al Mohler about this. Al Mohler is the President of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

    ———

The debate over abortion comes down to one essential issue — the moral status of the unborn child. Those making the case for the legalization of abortion argue that the developing fetus lacks a moral status that would trump a woman’s desire to abort the child. Those arguing against abortion do so by making the opposite claim; that the unborn child, precisely because it is a developing human being, possesses a moral status by the very fact of its human existence that would clearly trump any rationale offered for its willful destruction.

This central issue is often obscured in both public argument and private conversations about abortion, but it remains the essential question. We have laws against homicide, and if the unborn child is recognized legally and morally as a human being, abortion would be rightly seen as murder.

In the main, abortion rights advocates have drawn the moral line at the moment of birth. That is why, even with our contemporary knowledge of the developing fetus, abortion rights activists have persistently argued in favor of abortions right up to the moment of birth. Anyone doubting this claim needs only to consider…

What the hell is “after birth abortion”? Pretty sure that after a fetus is born it becomes it’s own being dependent on only itself as far as sustaining itself with its own organs and therefore has it’s own rights.

What you pro-lifers fail to consider is the rights of the parent that has to carry that child. You can’t just turn someone into a breeder against their will, even if “it’s only for 9 months!”

Uh.. yeah, what the fuck is “after birth abortion”??

Honestly, no. The debate over abortion does NOT come down to the “essential issue” of whether or not a fetus is a human being. It really comes down to the essential issue of the rights of the mother/uterus bearer vs. the rights of the fetus inside her*. Because, get this.. even if the fetus is considered a human being inside her, it doesn’t have any more rights than another human being. She* has the right to deny it the use of her body, just as she has the right to deny ANYONE the use of her body. If the fetus cannot survive outside the uterus.. well, that’s unfortunate but it’s no more morally reprehensible than denying someone your liver or a kidney just because OMG THEY’RE GONNA DIE WITHOUT IT. Nope. It’s still the donor’s choice, and her bodily autonomy still trumps any fetus’ “right to life.”

*sorry for the cissexist language - by “woman” and “her/she” I am referring to uterus-bearers and those who COULD get pregnant. Not all women can get pregnant, and not all people who can get pregnant are women.

    ^all this.

    What the ever loving fuck?!?!

another reason that i think atheist people are not religious or believe in god is cause their is something that their blaming on god and they think they already let that go but the didn’t its still dwelling in their minds i know their is a big chunk missing in their hearts and the person that belongs their is Jesus Christ. Here’s a challenge i want everyone reading this that doesn’t believe in god to go somewhere quiet and focus and with all your heart ask god if he is real i assure you that you will hear a yes from him because he is real and sent his only son to die for your salvation and his son his resurrected so he is not dead and he belongs in your heart

When I was a Christian, when I was in Bible college, even when I became a music pastor, I always envied those who claimed to “hear” God’s voice.

Turns out many of them were really “going with their gut” and never once heard anything.

But if you want to have a slam-your-head-against-the-wall conversation, find someone who really does hear voices. It’s as inspiring as talking to a box of hair. They pay more attention to the voice than anything you may be saying, and when you don’t “get it” they walk away like you’re the one in trouble.

If you hear voices, seek medical attention. When pills make the voice stop, that will be all the proof you need it wasn’t God.

  12. Something to Ponder on Easter

    youmightbeanatheist:

So Jesus died for my sins? By his stripes, I am healed? This is what the Bible says, but I have to ask, why?

Pause for a moment and consider that Jesus was already God, and he already had all those powers while alive. He healed many, he forgave many people’s sins, all the while walking around with mankind as living proof of God’s existence.

So killing him did what, exactly? What could this accomplish that he couldn’t have done while alive? Think about it.

If he was unable to heal or forgive everyone without being tortured and murdered, then he wasn’t much of a God. But if he could, then his death served only to culturally fetishize sacrifice and suffering, something I’d say Christian history proves we could have done without.

Why does such a moral God require blood sacrifice, anyway? Think about that a second. The Bible says we are washed in Jesus’ blood. Go watch the movie Carrie if you can’t imagine what being covered in blood looks like, then tell me, is this really the kind of thing a moral, just, benevolent God would use?

Imagine yourself covered in blood. If you can do this well, you’ll probably make yourself sick. And this is an appropriate response. I really don’t want to be covered in blood, no matter whose it is, real or metaphorical, for no reason whatsoever. You shouldn’t either.

Jesus’ death starts to look pretty grotesque and pointless in the long run. Why did God require animal slaughter in the first place. And why the ritual slaughter of himself, ie, his own son, later?

Why not teach humanity a new lesson, like maybe that capital punishment doesn’t solve anything? There’s a novel idea. How much better off would the world be if missionaries had been preaching that for over a thousand years?

“3000 years before Jesus, the Egyptian god Horus said ‘I am the way, the truth, the life.’.”
Horus was also born of a virgin on the winter solstice and visited by 3 Kings. Both were baptized by a “Baptist” who was beheaded. Both started to preach at the age of 30 and gathered 12 disciples. Both were killed and buried; then resurrected. The similarities go on and on, but the point is, Jesus is about as real as Horus.
Get over it.

If you can name more than five things Christianity plagiarized from the myth of Horus… you might be an Atheist.
