1. When you walk out of that rehearsal room for the last time, stop, look around, and remember the first time you walked into it. I bet you’ll be pretty impressed with the person you’ve become.

  2. It’s ok if you’d rather be playing in the graduation orchestra than waiting to get your diploma. That doesn’t mean you won’t run like hell when it’s over.

After graduation, I probably won’t remember those meaningful times with my friends during that math test, the team building exercises in home ec., the emotional reactions to the chemistry experiments, the personal growth I had in physics, or the physical triumph of dodgeball day in gym class. But I will remember all that I did with my music family and who I became because of them. (ok maybe dodgeball day also)
